AFRAA trying to cut the costs of flying for consumers

Airlines regulator Africa Airlines Association is in talks with operators for a fuel purchase agreement, that will see airlines buying fuel in bulk and saving them up to 30% in operational costs.

This according to the association will have a direct trickle down effect on you as the consumer , and you could start seeing cheaper air fares by as early as Janaury 2012.

But the body is waiting to see whether two of Africa biggest airlines, South African Airways and Kenya Airways will be on board with the agreement.

The two airlines already have contracts in place with their fuel suppliers that protects them from volatile fuel prices.

I really hope the agreement goes through. I wanna be balling too and afford to fly to 3 countries in one weekend no sweat!
