South Africa’s unemployment numbers rose from 23.9% in the last quarter of 2011 to 25.2% in the first 3 months of 2012 according to the latest quarterly Labour Force Survey.

This means employment essentially decreased by 75 0000 between the 2 quarters. 75 000!

There are now 4.5 million unemployed in the country.

The manufacturing and retail sectors may be creating employment, but thousands of jobs are being lost in the construction sector proving that the economy has remained generally depressed since the recession in 2009.

I suppose this may be a good time for people to start tapping into their entrepreneurial skills.
