SizweNtsalubaGobodo won the Top Empowered Business of the Year Award at this years Oliver Empowerment Awards that took place last Thursday.
The event hosted by Topco Media’s annual empowerment publication Impumelelo. The awards celebrated efforts made by the 60 finalists(but only 16 winners) who made a difference towards the development of BEE and transformation.
Business man Mark Headbush nabbed The Lifetime Achievement Award. He has contributed to not only the area of black economic empowerment but also in the South African business arena as a whole.
The Top Black Entrepreneur of the Year Award went to Bongi-M Construction’s Sibongile Maseko; Top Black Business Leader of the Year Award to SizweNtsalubaGobodo’s Nonkululeko Gobodo; and the Top Black Public Sector Executive Award to South African Maritime Safety Authority’s (SAMSA) Commander Tsietse Mokhele.
The winner of the Empowerment Funding Award went to the Absa Group; the Education and Training Award to Dormac; the Corporate Leadership Award to SizweNtsalubaGobodo; and the Diversity Award to Lion of Africa Insurance.
The awards had three categories: organisations, individuals, and headline awards.
